Paola and Bruce - Wedding at Mamma Agata
Dearest Chiara and everyone at Mamma Agata’s,
I cannot adequately express my gratitude for making our wedding so special. Everything exceeded my expectations. The attention to detail was amazing – from the little flowers on the lounge tables and flowers on the railings, to the care in setting the table with matching linens. You coordinated everything with my monogrammed napkins perfectly. The food was the best I had while in the Amalfi coast. Each course was presented to us prior to serving it. Each time, I didn’t think I would be able to eat any more, but after tasting each entree, I couldn’t stop myself it was so delicious. The spring risotto was fabulous and everyone’s favorite. The food was as visually appealing as delicious. Your hospitality with our guests was amazing. Having Mamma, Gennaro and you, Chiara sitting down and talking with everyone made the atmosphere so warm and friendly. Everyone loved Mamma ! I am so glad I choose Mama Agatas as opposed to an impersonal service at a hotel. Everything from the Bellinis and appetizers to the homemade limoncello was exceptional.
Finally, our wedding cake - the pear ricotta cheesecake - was almost too beautiful to eat. You paired it perfectly with the Rose Bava Spumanti. I was able to find a bottle in the local market so I bought one to take home. My husband has already asked me to prepare the pear ricotta cheesecake for him someday…I guess I have to wait for the cookbook to get the recipe!!!

While I know that you have already seen the note that I submitted to Trip Advisor, I also wanted to take a few moments to send you a personal note and thank you for a truly memorable evening!
Words cannot begin to describe what a wonderful time we had. It was an absolutely magical evening. Thank you so much for all the effort and energy you put into making it so perfect. It is night I will remember forever.
You know, since you live there with the family, you may not appreciate how beautiful a setting it is. You live in a truly enchanting place, and I hope as you share it with customers who come to Mamma Agata’s, you never forget the shear beauty of your surroundings.
But it’s not just the beautiful surroundings that make it special – it’s the love and thoughtfulness that radiates from you and your family. Your mother is a lovely lady and such a great cook. Please pass on my compliments to her and her assistants. I only wish I knew some Italian so that I could express to her how much joy she brings to people through the beautiful gift God gave her to cook. I wish her a long life with lots of good health. Please tell her how much joy she brought to my friends, and tell her how grateful we are that she is willing to share what she has with the world.
Gennaro is truly a kind and wonderful man. How lucky you are to have found him. I’m certain there’s no better husband or father in Ravello. He did a wonderful job selecting the wines for us. Every single one was delicious. And he did such a phenomenal job of serving the group and making sure we were all happy and satisfied. Please extend my heartfelt thanks for a job well done!
I’m sorry I did not get to meet your father, but please extend my thanks to him as well for all the work he does behind the scenes to create such an enjoyable evening. Everything was fresh and delicious and I know that some caring hands helped ensure that everything that was just perfect.
But Chiara, most of all, special thanks to you. You have done a beautiful job of marketing Mamma Agata’s and created a beautiful website to help bring Mamma Agata’s alive, even before anyone arrives. Thank you for your patience in answering all my questions. I know I send too many e-mails, but appreciate you spending the time to answer each one of them so promptly and professionally. As you can see, I like to pay attention to detail, hence my questions. But had I known how fabulous the evening would be and how conscientious you were, I never would have had to worry a moment.
The table was set beautifully. Simple and elegant. The terrace had such a warm and inviting feel, and such a gorgeous view. The setting and atmosphere was absolutely perfect. Thank you for putting together such beautiful flowers. Everyone remarked about how gorgeous they were. But most of all, thank you for your warmth and friendliness. You are truly a beautiful lady, inside and out. Thank you for caring so much and being willing to give so much of yourself for other’s happiness. I was so impressed by how you greeted each guest and welcomed them with open arms. And then, you remembered every person’s name! How do you do that? It was such a wonderful and impressive touch which I’d expect only to find at the world’s best five star hotels.
I also want to thank you for your efforts to put together such a wonderful gift basket for Denise and Ken to give to me. It was truly fabulous, and I have enjoyed the fruits, wines, liquors, sauces, jellies and baked goods. Everything was delicious. And thanks to you and Gennaro for the extra bottle of Ravello Selva delle Monache Riserva wine. While I opened the one in the basket, which was delicious, I have been saving this one for a special occasion. Thank you so much for that, and for the Mamma Agata apron. I will be proud to wear it next time I entertain at my dining room table. Like you and Gennaro, I love to entertain. It’s probably the one thing that I get most enjoyment out of life from: watching other people enjoy themselves and have a wonderful time. It brings me great joy.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making my 50th birthday such a special event. There is nothing I would have changed and nothing I can imagine that would have made it more perfect. You are a gem and I’m am blessed to have found you and your hidden jewel. Thank you so much for sharing it with me and my friends.
I look forward to seeing you again in Ravello and will do my best to make sure that others know about you and your beautiful place. And should you ever come to the states, please be sure to let me know. I’d be honored to show you around and have you as my guest, make you a beautiful dinner, and make sure you get a really good Chicago hot dog while you’re here!
Love and hugs to you and the family,
Anthony, Lynn and Adam
That's right!! I said the world! I have been to cooking schools around the world. . .but Mamma Agata's is simply the best. From the moment you are welcomed by Mamma's daughter, Chiara. . .you know something special is in store for you!! The breathtaking sea view. . .the terraced gardens of vegetables, fruits and grapes. . .the spotless kitchen of this master cook. . . all of these elements add up to an experience you will never forget. Of course it does not hurt that Mamma cooks and teaches with skill, passion and love! No. . .and it does not hurt that all the ingredients come right from the Mamma and Salvatore's gardens above the sea. . .or that the flavors of Italy will remain on your tongue and in your heart forever. We created zucchini flowers, Neapolitan Pizza, Gnocchi and a Lemon Cake that was as good as it gets! We drank wine, grappa and lemoncello crafted by Mamma's husband Salvatore. We laughed and we hugged. For us it was life altering. We will always remember the day at Mamma Agata's kitchen in Amalfi, Italy.
Thank you again Mamma, Chiara, Salvatore and Antonella!!

While I did not attend the cooking class, I did had the good fortune to celebrate my 50th birthday with a special dinner on the terrace at Mamma Agata's on August 4, 2006. It is a spectacular location, overlooking the sea and coastline and provides an absolutely perfect setting for a special occasion. Chiara, Mamma's daughter, helped me with all the planning on-line, and was extremely helpful and courteous. The evening was absolutely flawless. Each of my 13 guests arrived and introduced themselves as they walked down the stone stairway onto the terrace. Chiara remembered the name of every guest and addressed them by name for the rest of the evening. Cocktails and appetizers were served as the sun set to guitar and mandolin music. The table was set splendidly, flowers were absolutely gorgeous, candles illuminated the vine covered trellis. Beautiful tuscan sunflowers surrounded each napkin. We had an absolutely delicious six course dinner and found it unbelieveable, that as each course was served, we thought it was the best one, only to learn that even more splendid surprises were yet to come. If I had a choice of dinner at the Michelin two-star restaurant up the hill at the very popular five star hotel, or on Mamma Agata's terrace, I wouldn't think twice. Mamma Agata's would win hands down. My guests were amazed at how absolutely magical the evening was. None of us expect to ever experience anything nicer. Love and thanks to Mamma for a delicious meal, to her husband who does the hard work to cultivate the the beautiful fresh flowers and vegatables that we such an integral part of the meal, to Gennaro for the beautiful wines he selected and for his wonderful service all evening, and to Chiara who epitomizes grace, elegance and style that only the most priviledged in this world are able to experience. We were priviledged to have been a part of the beautiful world they have created and blessed that they were willing to share it for such a special occasion. We love you all, will come back soon, and promise to tell all our friends and family. Mille Grazie. Chris.
Thank you very much for making our time in Ravello such a beautiful memory! I want to tell you that we enjoyed a very beautiful evening with you and your family celebrating Christian's Birthday!
Everything was wonderful; the setting, the view, the decorations, the flowers, the music, the cake, the wine! All of the food was fantastico, delicious! It was an absolutely perfect evening! We will be reliving it for years to come!
We truly enjoyed your town of Ravello and the Amalfi Coast. I hope that one day we will be able to return and when we do that we will be able to visit you again!
Thank you again for a wonderful evening! Best wishes and thank you to Mamma and your husband also!
