Mamma Agata

As someone who discovered and booked Mamma Agata's for my wedding reception by searching and reading reviews on the internet I thought it only fair to return the favour and hopefully help other wedding couples considering the same thing. We got married in Positano on 24th just gone and chose mamma Agata’s for the reception as it looked like the perfect place for us…and we were absolutely right! Everything about this place, from the warm, friendly Italian welcome to the delicious food and fabulous location made our wedding day a dream come true, and I promise I am not exaggerating about that! After many months of planning meeting Chiara a couple of days before the wedding set our minds at ease-she has such a warm, outgoing personality and we knew we were in safe hands. Our arrival at the venue after our lovely ceremony was perfect! All of our guests-who had arrived as planned, some time before us-we suitably blown away! The weather was perfect, the views crystal clear and they were being treated like royalty! The cocktail reception on the garden was beautiful, the food amazing and so plentiful-much much more than we had expected and all being freshly made and served and replenished continuously! This in itself would have been enough to satisfy our guests! But then, when we were ready, it was on to the sit-down dinner. I have to say, the table was decorated so carefully and beautifully we were thrilled! Chiara had obviously gone to a lot of trouble and our flowers and favours were complemented perfectly with her own extra added touches! We had the lemon theme and it all worked so well! The food was exceptional! Everyone said it was their best meal ever, and though I am biased, I can honestly say it was mine! Traditional food cooked perfectly, full of flavour and served on beautiful plates. We had the starters of deep fried zucchini flower and eggplant parmagiana (huge! Gorgeous!) flowed by pasta with local sausage meat (perfectly cooked, melt-in-the-mouth pasta, lovely sausage which is served on the side-great in case anyone didn’t like it-of course everyone did!) followed by mamma’s lemon chicken (I cannot begin to describe the taste of the lemons!) and then mamma’s lemon cake for dessert and our wedding cake! Oh-My-God! This is so good! Everyone loved it and we were thrilled we had chosen it for our wedding cake as it will always bring back special memories! The wine we had chosen without knowing anything about it was superb! We were so impressed! The champagne for the toast really delicious and special! All of our guests wanted the name of it! The whole evening was so magical and is being described by my grandmother to anyone who ask’s as ‘like a fairytale’! And that’s how I would describe it too! You really have to go to know exactly what it’s like, and if you do go I can promise you won’t be disappointed! Chiara made all of us feel really taken care of, she made the day exactly how we wanted it and it truly was a dream come true. I can’t stop raving about it to everyone I meet and I know my wedding memories will always be extra special. When one of your guests declares your wedding better than her own you know you’ve done something right! Thanks Chiara from Leanne and Damien, and all of our guests! We can’t wait to come back and do the cookery class one day soon!

Our stay at Mamma's place was like visiting paradise. They are the most wonderful people we ever met. The cooking class was spectacular. They are such warm, friendly funny and always with a big smile on their faces. A must go see this paradise. Thank you Chiara and family for a wonderful dream

Thanks so much for the amazing experience my parents and I had at your home! It was wonderful to be able to spend quality time with everyone at the class. I would love to say it was once in a lifetime experience but I know I will be back for more! Thanks again Chiara and Mama!

A beautiful new site dedicated to the genuine Italian cuisine. We really feel "peckish" and we are looking forward to visiting you very soon in the charming Ravello.

We had an amazing honeymoon that was capped of with the highlight of our honeymoon. Cooking with Mamma Agata!!! We cooked all day-tasting, drinking wine, and gaining great cooking tips. I have already made the eggplant parmesean twice-which was universally loved, as well as the pastelas and lemon cake. The Pastelas-a HUGE hit at my mom's suprise 50th bday party. Anyone in the area absolutly must make this experience part of your trip to the Amalfi Coast-otherwise you are missing out on a once in a lifetime experiece!!!
