Dear Chiara, I just received my copy of Mamma's cookbook and it is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many beautiful pictures and I love the stories of your family. And of course the recipes. I cannot wait to try them. I think you and your family should
be very proud of the book. All of your hard work has paid off with such wonderful results. I am so happy to have one of the first copies and can't wait to show it to family and friends. The book is such a wonderful reminder of the fantastic time we had
with you and Mamma. Best of luck to all of you.
I just wanted you to know how much we are enjoying the cookbooks! I gave them to our friends, and they have all said nothing but wonderful things about the recipes as well as the instructions for each recipe. I just love that there is so much about your family and home....It makes for such a nice read even when not cooking!
I also wanted to check with you about bringing some friends of ours back to Ravello to take the cooking and/or wine tasting classes.......We are thinking about arriving on Fri, May 26 and staying until Wed, June 2. There would be 6 of us, and we would be attending the chamber music concerts on Fri, Sat, and Mon evening. Since Dwight and I have told our very good friends that no visit to Ravello would be complete without taking your classes, they are very excited! Please let me know how this works for your schedule.
Thanks so much,
Roberto and Gaynor
I arrived to my office this morning after our holiday vacation and the Mamma Agata Simple and Genuine Cookbook had finally arrived! I am so impressed! The book is so much more than a cookbook! I had no idea it would have the chapters telling about Mamma Agata's life, the family, and the cooking school - all the history which of course makes the Cooking Class so special to anyone that attends! After reading those chapters and then getting to the recipes, the reader feels as if they are truly with Mamma Agata cooking in her kitchen! And how magical that is for those of us who have had the wonderful experience of actually doing just that!
The photography is Excellent! The writing is so personal as if I were reading a personal journal and that is spectacular! This is so different from the everyday cookbook and really makes you think about the food and the ingredients, the love and passion that goes into heartfelt cooking! Gennaro's chapter is excellent but I think it could be an entire 2nd book dedicated to wines and pairing them with food! I hope there will be another to come and we can look forward to a 2nd beautiful book to teach us about wines to drink for every type of meal!
I think for those who have not visited Mamma Agata Cooking School in Ravello before, if they have the chance to read and cook recipes from Mamma Agata Simple and Genuine cookbook, they will be visiting in droves very soon! I know that when Rob and I come back again (next time with our children!), there is no doubt we will need to book months in advance!! You can read all about the cooking school and order the cook book on their website: www.mammaagata.com
Congratulations to Chiara, Mamma Agata, Gennaro and the entire family on a SUPERB accomplishment! Thank you for sharing your beautiful story and fantastic recipes with us all!
It was a grey and cloudy day here until I heard the beep-beep of the DHL truck, which delivered into my hands your beautiful cookbook- suddenly the day became bright and sunny with the flavours of Campania.
First, I want to sincerely thank you for your kindness is sending me your wonderful cookbook, and second, tanti tanti complimenti for a huge job beautifully done. You have managed to transmit the warmth and passion behind the concept of Mamma Agata very well. Within minutes of opening the book I became very hungry!
My origins are Neapolitan, and I grew up cooking with love and passion in my grandmother’s kitchen, with the use of simple but high quality seasonal ingredients – this was always my family’s approach to food- so your cookbook is reminiscent of my childhood and reawakened some very positive memories… as well as the urge to cook. I know there was a great deal of work involved in this project and I wish you the best of success with the book and your cooking school.
Thank you again for thinking of me.
